Feeling Flushed? It Might Be Rosacea (and We Can Help)

Have you ever noticed that your face appears to be more flushed at times than that of your friends and peers?

Well, it turns out you might be one of the 16 million Americans, or 415 million persons worldwide, who are affected by Rosacea. Rosacea, a condition where certain facial blood vessels become enlarged, causes the flushing appearance in your cheeks and nose primarily.

Here at Innovative Eye Care, we offer a couple of proven effective treatments for rosacea. We have talked before about Intense Pulse Light therapy and our LUVO DARWIN™: IPL & RF Treatment Device and how it’s helpful for a number of eye and skin conditions, including rosacea.

As well, we are proud to continue to work with our partner in skin care, the award-winning brand Epionce, in creating a routine that minimizes the symptoms associated with Rosacea. Their products are created with anti-inflammatory technology, barrier repair technology, and keratolytic technology for congestion. This is all accomplished while also using ingredients that are soothing, calming, and non-sensitizing.

Now, what exactly are these ingredients that Epionce uses, and why are they so good?

First, there’s apple fruit extract and date fruit extract to stimulate collagen and elastin formation while being full of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits for your skin.

Then, there’s meadowfoam extract to help increase skin firmness and elasticity while encouraging rejuvenation and being an antioxidant, reducing inflammation, and preventing tumors.

Next, there’s safflower oil, which is a rich source of cholesterol, ceramide, and free fatty acids that are all necessary components for best skin function, repair, and anti-aging benefits. And finally, there’s azelaic acid, which is believed to impact multiple causes of rosacea, including inflammation and rosacea-generating proteins.

But, enough about the ingredients, though. Let’s talk about what products are best and for what purposes? First, let’s break down two separate regimens—one for those with dry/sensitive to normal skin and one for those with more oily skin.

Oily / Problem Skin:

Dry and Sensitive Skin:

For oily skin, your cleansing routine should begin with Gentle Foaming Cleanser AM in the morning and Gentle Foaming Cleanser PM at night. If your skin tolerates it, follow with Purifying Toner AM in the morning and Purifying Toner PM in the evening. For treatment, begin with either Lytic Tx or Lytic Sport Tx PM in your evening routine only.

Apply Renewal Facial Lotion AM in the morning and Renewal Facial Lotion PM in the evening. This lighter formulation is ideal for oily skin types while still providing necessary hydration. As with the dry/sensitive regime, enhance results by adding Intense Defense Serum AM in the morning and Intense Defense Serum PM in the evening. Complete your morning skincare routine with Epionce Sunscreen to protect your skin from UV damage.

As you can see, no matter what your skin type, Epionce has you covered. That’s why we’ll continue to work with them and help you find what’s best for your skin. Remember, it all comes back to the eyes, and if you want to protect the house then you must take care of the lawn. Damaged skin leads to damaged eyes, and you deserve the best skin and vision possible.

For Dry/Sensitive to Normal Skin, begin your morning routine with either the Milky Lotion Cleanser or Gentle Foaming Cleanser AM, followed by your evening cleanse with either the Milky Lotion Cleanser or Gentle Foaming Cleanser PM. After 3 months of using a Renewal product, you can incorporate Lite Lytic Tx PM into your evening routine, and eventually add Lite Lytic Tx AM to your morning routine.

For your primary treatment, use the Renewal Facial Cream, or choose between Intensive Nourishing Cream AM for morning and Intensive Nourishing Cream PM for evening. For enhanced results, apply Intense Defense Serum AM in the morning and Intense Defense Serum PM in the evening. Always finish your morning routine with Epionce Sunscreen for crucial UV protection.
